I use fleece as a bedding, and I have a litter bin. In the bin I usually use shavings, evt. mixed with shredded paper. I recently thought I saw one of my piggies eating the wooden shavings.. Ofcourse I don't want my pigs to eat bedding! What should I put in now? I doubt if a piece of fleece is a good idea, that would make it more like a piggy-bed. Do pigs tend to eat Yesterdays News? I think will take a shot at that.

My pigs nibbled at Yesterday's News at first. I think that was just to check it out. They're better with it now.

Hm that makes me doubt :D I think I'll just buy a few bags of bedding (YN, Carefresh) and see what works best, and if it doens't work I can always donate it to a shelter.

I believe Carefresh is able to be injested without harm.

Really? That is great, I'll try that one first!

I use critter care, but I doubt you will find that in the Netherlands. It's Wal-Mart generic brand of carefresh.

OK Ly, a newbie would like to know:

I used Critter Care for a week last summer, but I found the smell to be overwhelming. This may have been because I have a TINY pet store cage and Toffee soiled the entire thing.

Do you use Critter Care in the whole cage, or just in the designated "litterbox" area?

I use fleece as bedding and I only use the critter care in their litter box. It doesn't stick to the fleece like other things I have tried (i.e. hay, kd pine). It gets change every 4-5 days when I change the fleece.
