I am new to this and I thought I read that some hay can introduce mites or other pests? I was planning on buying a bale of timothy (or orchard grass)horse hay from local farmer and keeping it in my barn - would this be ok or should I order hay that is especially for piggies.

I personally don't see any probs with this. Most mite cases don't happen because of the hay...
