Hi. This is my 3rd post on here today but i just discovered this forum and have so many questions that keep popping into my head lol.

What is the best way to bath your piggies?

What do you use to wash and dry? Also, how often should i do it?

Thank you in advance.

:)

Give a guinea pig a bath only if they need it. Some cavies don't ever really need one. You will need to use some sort of small animal shampoo. Don't use human/baby shampoo. There is a great small animal oatmeal shampoo out there. I put a tiny bit of water in the tub and wash my pigs in there. Just make sure you don't get any shampoo or water in their eyes or ears. When you are done washing them dry them off with a towel a little bit and what some people do is put their hair dryer on a very low setting and dry them off. Make sure the dryer doesn't get too hot for them. Don't put your pigs back into the cage until they are completely dry. They tend to get cold after they get out of the tub.

Good luck!

You shouldn't really have to bath your pigs. I have done only ever bathed mine twice. When I first adopted them and about a year after.

What I did was put a towel in the bottem of the tub and filled it with about 2 inches of luke warm water. Then put them in, lol. I washed them with a shampoo I got from my cavy vet. I had someone to help me with drying them, etc. Basically I just let them run around the bathroom with a cover on the floor and dried them one by one with a towel.

Hope that helps.

Mine don't seem to care about the hairdryer... maybe because mommy uses it all the time (ha ha).
