Astro Turf

Hi. I just finished building my cage. It looks awesome. I made a ramp out of wire and covered it with astroturf. It's like plastic grass with a rubber type backing. Is that okay to use with cavies? As soon as I put the ramp in one of my pigs started nibbling on it. I don't want them to get sick. Any suggestions?

depends what kind of turf it is.I use a Traffic kind that some zoos even use.but none are toxic to any animal so you should be ok.They'll figure it tastes bad and stop chewing as would any animal.
