Hey guys! so i was wondering if aspen twigs were ok for piggies to chew on? i have aspen trees in my yard and they're not sprayed or anything. It's winter of course so the trees are dorment so if i can use a twig from my aspen, what do i have to do to prepare it for my little Rhino?

I can't find anything to indicate whether aspen is safe or not. Nobody seems to be doing it, and I'd think if it were safe, somebody would have said so.

Mine get hay to chew, and they've got a wooden tunnel made out of a safe wood, but they don't chew on it. It doesn't seem like chewing on wood is much of a priority for them.

My Guinea Pigs hideys are made of wood. They definitely need wood to chew on.

I recommend Apple Tree sticks or simply wooden chew sticks from the store. Both will last you forever-- At least a few good months I believe. Maybe longer.

Don't waste your money on sticks or twigs from the store. Most pigs won't touch them.

As for aspen twigs, have you googled it yet? My pigs love fresh apple twigs (note I said fresh), and I've read that willow are okay, but haven't heard anything about aspen.
