I have a guinea pig that is 8 months. And I recently just got a huge c&c cage! With a little bundle of joy.. Named Pipsqueak! Hes a baby guinea pig around 2 weeks old. Last night I introduced them and they hung out for an hour and did the normal dominance stuff. I placed them in the huge c&c cage and they're both just laying around. I think my older one groomed the younger one.. But I cant tell if there bonding or not.. They did some rumblestrutting and a small amount of teeth chattering and now they're just chilling in the cage.. So Is it done? I can't tell if they're getting along or not.

So, you just stuck them in the same cage? No 21 day quarantine? No drawn out proper introduction?

No. I did the Quarantine. And I also Introduced them. Im just wondering what kind of behaviour I should be looking out for to see if they're getting along or not.

If they're not fighting and no blood is being shed, they're getting along just fine.

You have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not they "bond." You can introduce them, but after that, it's up to them. They may be best buds, and sleep and eat together, or they may just live in the same cage and not have much to do with each other. Either way is perfectly normal.

Okay! Thanks. My older one seemed like he really needed a friend so i begged my parents and they got one. So I'm pretty sure hes pretty happy with him as a friend. And the little ones just happy that hes not the only one terrified of the new place hes in. Thanks.

You have, I hope, turned them both over and compared their private parts to make sure they're both male?

Also, they won't always get along this well. The younger one hasn't hit puberty yet, and things will be very different when he does.

How large a C&C cage did you get? Boars need a LOT of room.

They're both male and from the same Breeder, I know for sure. The cage is definitely big enough. I'm pretty sure its 2x3, And we're still adding on another floor. But its big enough. And the younger one is VERY docile. And very calm.

Two by three is NOT large enough for boars and another story won't help.

The younger one is docile because it hasn't hit puberty. You ain't seen nothin' yet.

We are still expanding. Thinking of three by three. Or three by four, We just need a bit more materials. But thanks for the advice. I will expand the cage the cage as soon as possible. ;)

Pipsqueak is only 2 weeks old? Most babies aren’t weaned until they are 3 weeks.
