I bought a container of veggies from Earthbound Farms. They are organicaly grown. I don't recognize some of the ingredients. Could anyone tell me if they are ok?
Baby lettuce(reg& green romaine, red & green oak leaf, lollo rosa, tango)

baby spinach leaves red & green chard mizuna arugula frisee radicchio

I know of some, but the ones I have bold I don't know.

I don't know how the smile got there but it should be lollo rosa.

I give up! L o l l o rosa

Lollo Rosso is fine for pigs. I'm unsure about red & green oak leaf - I haven't heard of it so you'd best wait for one of the more knowledgeable members to answer that one.

Chard is fine; Mizuna is fine, although my pigs don't like it; I haven't heard of Arugula, and Frisee is fine - it's also called Curly Endive.

I thought frisee looked familiar but the name threw me.

It's all fine. I feed my pigs that same mix.

Thanks! It looks like a lot of spinach is in there. Porkchop could have the calcium because she is still yound, but Apple is 1 yr. can she still have as much. Isn't spinach one of the high calcium veggies?

Yes, I believe spinach is high in calcium. Just watch them while they are eating these veggies; if Apple eats lots of spinach, pick out the rest and give it to Porkchop. Or, if you can find another mixture of lettuces/greens wihout so much spinach, try offering them that.

Spinach is fairly high in calcium but very high in Vitamin A and oxalic acid. I don't feed my pigs spinach at all anymore because of the A and oxalic acid. Per 100g of spinach there is 99mg calcium, 469mcg of A and 970mg of oxalic acid. Vitamin A can cause liver/kidney damage and oxalic acid can bind with calcium and cause oxalate stones.

I do feed one mix (I think the spring mix) that has baby spinach in it, but I try to pick all the baby spinach out.

Can they eat speckled butter beans that are still in the husk?
