I had to go down and get new pellets for my guineas today because the place that I was usually buying them from in sort of bulk has made a mistake that I cannot really get over. They put rabbit food in the dispenser for guinea pig food and I have been feeding it to my pigs for over a week and didn't even notice the difference until I bought some more and compared it.
I bought a new type of pellets today. Its called Martin Little Friends Guinea Pig Food. The problem is that the only kind that the store carried is the one that is made with dehydrated Alfalfa meal. I have three pigs. One is 2 months and the other 2 are about 8 months old. Would this food be ok for them. It is really my only option because the only other food we have is the stuff mentionned above and I don't want to risk getting rabbit food again. Will the rabbit food that my piggies already ate bother them in any way?? I cannot even introduce these new pellets gradually because I have no guinea pig pellets to mix in with it, so is it alright to just start them off with all new pellets or should I mix in just a tiny bit of the rabbit pellets that I have left (The guinea pig pellets are all gone).
