Behavior Are female usually more quiet??

I was looking to buy 2 Guinea pigs from pets at home( please dont attack me!! In my area there are hardly any guinea pigs in shelters, and i know i will treat a pet shop guinea pig better than someone who will buy it then stuff it in a little cage and leave it till it dies. Plus pets at home usually ask the right questions, and do take good care of their animals)and noticed that the females where bunched up in a corner together, unlike the males who were running around and playing with each other ( the males and females are not housed together in the shop btw)? Any particular reason for this, or did i just catch them when they were tired?

It ranges from pig to pig. My sow is crazy. She's very hyper and vocal. The reason why the sows in that pet shop were bunched in a corner is most likely because they are scared and aren't socialized. This happens a lot with petstore pigs.
If I were you, I would look around on websites to see if anyone wants to rehome their pigs. There aren't any small animal shelters/rescues where I live, so I got my pigs from people who didn't want them anymore. I even put up ads looking for pigs. I'm sure you can find some lovely pigs that way!!

My sow is definitely much more vocal than my boar. She wheeks for any reason whatsoever, and as loudly as she can. He's much quieter and more laid back.

Do you have classified ads in your area? If so, please check those before buying a piggy. If you have a store selling them near you, I guarantee you there are piggies that need a home because stores always attract many people who buy on impulse, then who want to ditch the responsibility.
