Yesterday I bought Peanut a chube(a cardboard tube). She likes to eat the colored paper on the outside of it. The label said it was made out of vegetable parchment. Is it safe for her to be eating? The label says they are safe, but I just want to make sure. Has anyone else had their guinea pig eat the outside of it, My guinea pig just loves to.
Here is a picture of them..

My guineas chew those things up in no time, so far no side effects.

Mine also love it. Although now that they chewed all the color off they more or less ignore it. I guess its time to buy some more.

Mine chew the paper off, too. No problems whatsoever.

Oh, also - don't use the 'free bedding' that they put inside of it. It makes a mess.

It's usually ok, but they sometimes pee inside and then sit in it.

Mine totally ignore the "Chube" but absolutely love their Quaker Oats tube. Wierd pigs!

Is it okay for my piggies to eat the sides of a shoe box off? I was gone for the last couple days so I had my sister look after them and well they ate the sides right off.

Its fine. They love cardboard. Just dont make a habit of it.

I have a green chube
