Are Carrots Bad?

I just read that you shouldn't feed guinea pigs too many carrots. "Maybe 1 baby carrot every other day"...???

I feed my pigs about 4 baby carrots every day! Why should carrots be limited? Are they not healthy?

Carrots contain vitamin A and some people worry that too many carrots means too much vitamin C. Since, they are baby carrots they are ok, but maybe you could change to three or even two a day?

Too much of anything is unhealthy as it unbalances their diet. You can try parsley, red pepper, kale, romaine lettuce, or cilantro, too. There are many others, see https://www.guinealynx.com/healthycavy.html#diet for more information. =)

Everything in moderation. I don't feed carrots every day, but my pigs love 'em. They're fine occasionally, or a baby carrot per piggie every day.
