Are all pigs' ears the same shape?

Do guinea pigs have ear shape variations? Ginger's ears kind of look like there are pieces missing and my husband thinks Fritz is biting Ginger's ears. There is no blood, it doesn't hurt Ginger when the places on the ear are touched, and I think they've always looked like that, but not sure.

My Mia has places on her ears where it looks like one her former buddies may have nibbled on them. That's probably what your pig's is from.

They sound like bites to me, probably from awhile ago. About nine years ago, my family bought Abby from a pet store (not knowing anything about now bad pet stores are) and her ears were the same way. The shop owner told us that Abby's mother had probably done it accidentally while trying to clean her ears, but Abby was so skittish for so long that I think it must have been an attack of some sort. (Somewhat happy ending: Abby died peacefully last summer of old age - 8.5 years!)

Sorry, that was somewhat off-topic...but if she's not in pain when you touch them, they're probably old bites and nothing to worry about. Abby's ears never seemed to hold her back, at least!

Mine too, Tiffany, Meimei's ears has a cool zigzag outline, which I thought was natural..... until...
Our vet told us that she probably got nibbled on when she was little, and the vet made a brilliant guess - she originated from a piggy farm... BINGO. Meimei was first purchased from petstore, then lost interest, shoved in the laundary room, then into my house.
Just like Ambernear said, if its not hurting Ginger, you probably have nothing to worry about!!!

The breed standard is the same for all pigs, which is a drooping, rose petal shaped ear. Due to all the cross breeding our piggies have ears of many shapes and varieties!

My pigs's ears don't have chunks missing out of them but some of them do have what I call standing ears and floppy ears. Standing ears look like they aren't folded over and are somewhat standing up. Chocolatte has floppy ears that flap when she wheeks. It makes me laugh everytime.

Wheekwheek

One of my piggies has ears that flap when she wheeks too. The other 3 piggies here have ears that seem to have collapsed in the middle so that they form m's.

Roxy's ears stand up when I make the "carrot call".

I actually just caught Fritz nibbling on Ginger's ears. Any way I can stop this?

Nibbling ears is a sign of affection Fritz is in love.
