This is far fetched but I'm desperate so thought I would ask anyway. Is there anyone in the US that would be willing to purchase 5 packs (more if possible) of these Whitmor Purple Wire Storage Cubes, Set of 4 - Wal-Mart and I will pay through cheque/paypal - whatever is easiest for you, for any expensises including any postage, shipping, taxes whatever, I could probably add abit on for your time too!
It a long shot but my guinea pigs are desperate
It could be done over e-bay as I would rather pay through PayPal but please PM me if anyone is willing to be extremely kind!

Thanks

You dont have to use cubes to make a large enough cage. You could use sevral other things, some people use wire shelving, some people use wire (i.e. chicken wire) some people use playpen pannels. There are other options, it may not technically be a C&C cage but it could be just as good as one as long as its big enough. Have you looked through the alternative cages album in the photogalleries? Here is a link to it there are some great ideas in it https://www.guineapigcages.com/gallery/categories/512/

I've looked through all of them but I think cubes will be the best option because I'm no good with DIY so I need an easy option that be moved around with ease and cubes will be the exact right size for the location of the cage, not to mention I've done all the measurements now.
Thanks for replying though xx:)

Doesn't Walmart ship?

It says free shipping on the website, in a small green box at the top of the page. Good luck with getting your supplies.

Free shipping on walmart is when you order your product to be sent to the store and you can pick it up yourself at the store, but they will not ship that order free to your home.

Why don't you try ebay? Now why don't you go yourself and buy them? Do you have any walmart at you area?

Ebay only has one person selling them and they are a trouble to get hold of, not someone I can trust to put my money into in the fear they might not send them...
I live in the UK so nope I havent got a Walmart near me.
I would be willing to pay an extra $50 for someone who would be willing to be that kind and go out of there way - i realise this isnt the smallest of favours..:(

I found two people with it in ebay. :) (broken link removed)

Sorry, I did not realize the free shipping was only to the store. I have never ordered from there, so did not know the procedure.

Also, what about just ordering a cage from this site, that is probably the easiest way to do it if you cannot find grids near you.

It is OK, I was just clarifying it to you in case someday you need to. :cheerful:

They are *really* heavy. A box weighs between 10 and 11 lbs. I can't imagine the cost to ship 5 boxes to the UK. I tried to get a quote on UPS.com but I couldn't. But I have no idea who would be the best vendor to send something to you anyhow. Regular US postal service would be $200, so that's out.

My Walmart doesn't have them in stock. I could order them Site to Store and then ship them to you, but it would take 2 weeks to get to me. (And then probably a week or more to get from me to you, assuming we choose the cheapest delivery option we can find.)

If you know of a delivery service that can get them from here to there for a reasonable amount of money, I do have an ebay account with an excellent reputation, and I'd be happy to do it for you as long as you cover my ebay and paypal fees (and of course the shipping charges).

One more issue is that I'm not comfortable lying on the customs form, so you may end up having to pay duty as well.

PM me if you want to discuss further.

It costs like $25 to send a pair of shoes over...It'd cost way over $100 to ship grids, they are really heavy.

Thank you so much for everyone replying, I have been PMin YuselinMaikel and I didnt realise how much the grids weigh and would cost to ship! I dont know if I will be getting them from the USA after all now because I dont think I could afford $100+ per pack...

Again thanks for all the replys its nice to see people are kind enough to offer their help on here, its much appreiciated!

It's a bit crazy to want to buy them from the US when you can source them in the UK. Have you tried to order them from B&Q? Or ebay?

B&Q are telling me they arent going to have them in, in Colchester and that they will try to order them in and get back to me but have had no luck, and e-bay have one person selling them from the US and they've got a lot of negative feedback about their shipping..

Someone in the UK ought to start a business importing cubes; they'd make a fortune. I'd do it myself if I knew how to go about it.

I agree that it doesn't really make sense to ship them from the US. There must be people who have found alternatives in the UK that work just as well for a fraction of the price of shipping these over.

There's a list of places in the UK that stock them so I'm not sure why people are wanting import as an option.

B&Q (need to be ordered and can take a while but still do-able. Product code is in the thread in the UK section)
Screwfix (either from their warehouses or online, search "storage cubes")
Robert May (need to be ordered using an order form)
Ebay (various sellers stock them occasionally)

If stockists get the idea that they're popular then they'll keep stocking them. However, importing will shove the price up even more.

candi is selling her grids - see this post in the UK section.
