Wow awesome cages everyone!!! I'm hoping to get the coro today and remodel this weekend, if not it won't be until Monday :( Making the liners today though. I have our cage on a grid stand and I cannot do L shapes due to limited space. 2 by width is about as big as I can go. Length though I can go to like a 2x10 (non plans of that big lol) And I can go up with levels as well. Will post pictures of first remodel soon :)

The second I built the 2x5 I wanted to build an L-shape extension. I'm pretty sure my husband would kill me though lol

Okay so after further examination an L shape MAY be possible. If that's the case, how big would you say making each side? We have 5 piggies but right now only four are together (fifth is quarantined and special needs) We are unsure how we're going to approach her, whether introducing to the herd or leaving her alone and getting her a cage mate in a c&c above the herd. She'll be going into a 2x4 above the herd once she is cleared by the vet Tuesday (hopefully) I'm thinking two 2x5 L shaped? We have roughly 80 grids so after we make the stand (two grid high) the rest will be for the cage.

Hmm. So thinking a 3x5 with a bigger loft. It will actually fit better than an L shape and/or a larger 2 by width lol I'm going to make the stand and see how well it fits. I have only need one sheet coro right (3 inch walls)

lol I had been BEGGING for 2 years for him to let us get a guinea pig and he said no. Our girls said they wanted one in April, so one Mother's Day he decided we could get a hamster...went to the pet store (bad idea I know, found that out later rather than sooner though) and they told us hamsters were too fast and wild to interact with and recommended us to get two guineas since it's not recommended for them to be alone. So we got two! lol Now we have five (two pet store/three adopted)! And he loves when they wheek and squeal at me for food. They're definitely the fun of the house now a days :) And I would make one room specifically for the guineas but he thinks I'm a nut case for thinking it :/ lol So I'll expand as big as I can in the living room hahah

LOL, That's funny. My dinning room is basically the guinea pig room. The table has been down graded and now is housed between the living room and dinning room.

As for the hamsters, I have had nice ones and mean ones. My grandson's mom has one that the kids can handle and will stay snuggled to you until you put him back. He is too damn cute too. My last one about 10 years ago hate me and the boys but loved my sister when she stopped by, I talked her into taking him because he wasn't happy with us.

Love it Beth Pearson!
I wish I could do a 3x5 but it's just impossible with my space allotment.

Thank you agirlwithink! I have actually tweaked it a bit since posting the picture. Lid is on top now instead of the front, much easier! lol We also have a 2x3 next to it for our lone girl. I love the amount of space that's in it, as well as the cats space underneath it lol Two for one ;) And it fits perfectly between our wall and sectional so if/when I need more space, I can just shove it in that corner :)
