Lol you may have noticed that I like seeing if others have similar interests as me. Let me tell you, I am OBSESSED with this musical. I grew up on it, and I still watch it almost every day. I know every character by name, and every single song. Last night, I saw it live for the first time. It was amazing! Though I couldn't get over the fact that they weren't the same as what I am used to...

My favorite characters include Rum Tum Tugger, Munkustrap, Mr. Mistoffelees, and Grizabella. Oh, and don't forget about Victoria, Jemima, and Bombulurina. Oh, and Demeter, and Rumpleteazer and MungoJerri. Ok, pretty much all of them!!

What do you guys think? Obviously, I am addicted.

P.S. I grew up on the film version, that came out in 1998, the only one I like because I am so used to it :)

I really love musicals. Cats, Rocky Horror, Sweeny Todd, Chicago, Grease, Little shop of horrors...

I cried hard during Cats. The "Memories" song.

lol ya I can play the piano to that while I sing it, one of my favorites as well.

I'm a Broadway fan, too. Not Cats in particular, although I've seen it, but pretty much any of the major musicals. I've seen Phantom, Evita, Lion King, Mary Poppins, Little Shop of Horrors, Fiddler on the Roof, Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Producers, Joseph, Avenue Q, Grease, Black Patent Leather Shoes, Christmas Carol, and others I've forgotten. One of the things I miss most about living in Chicago is the great theater district there.

Never seen Rocky Horror on stage, but we have a group here in Orlando that does a shadow cast at Universal once a month. They had a great Rocky show for two years at Halloween Horror Nights. Man, the guy who played Riff could sing! I wish they still did it.

Yes, I love Phantom as well :) Though not as much as Cats ;)

@mufasa Oh Avenue Q. So funny and inappropriate!

Which version of Cats did you guys see?

You reminded me of a poem that we read in English class although I don't think it has anything to do with Cats. It's about a cat though... The cat's name is Macavity. I really like that poem. But anyway, I've only heard of that musical, so I don't know anything about it. lol

Macavity is one of the Cats in the musical. Cats is based off of a book full of poems though. It's like "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" by T.S. Elliot or something...

I thought so. I remember my teacher saying something about that. lol Now that poem is stuck in my head... It's really catchy. That's pretty cool how the musical is based off cat poems, though!

The version I've seen was a VHS tape made in 1998 apparently.

Yes @MissJean that's the one I love!

I originally saw it on the VHS tape then my Dad got me the DVD for Christmas. Along with the tickets to see it live.

I saw it on stage in 1991, so whichever version was touring then.

@MissJean , I think of Schadenfreude whenever I ride an elevator, hee hee.

Oh, okay. I like the 1998 filmed version. :)

My favorite characters are Mr. Mistoffelees and Rum Tum Tugger. I like most characters based off Mephistopheles (Faust) and Rum Tum's song was quite amazing.

lol I love the song as well I sing it almost everyday! Same with Mr. Mistoffelees :) Which version ddi you see?

So, I watched this movie the other day. I couldn't get over it, I loved it so much! I couldn't figure out why though! Then, after like a week, I finally figured it out. It's a musical!

I love the movie Burlesque!!!! It stars Christina Aguilera and Cher. Christina is my favorite singer EVER! I now listen to the songs from it every single day!

I love the film version. Was so mad I couldn't get that version's songs on iTunes. But the version I did get is still good. Rum Tum Tugger is my fav and my cat Possum is often compared to him in my house. XD We still have the VHS somewhere....It always gets lost and then found.

I am a huge musical fan though. Phantom is way up there, along with Sweeney Todd, Rocky Horror, RENT, and this little known 10 minute opera turned movie called REPO! The Genetic Opera. Most of them I have seen only in movie form, or seen recordings of the stage performances. I have seen Phantom at the Dallas theater though. So awesome! And I went to a shadow cast performance of Rocky Horror. Again awesome! I would love to see most of them on stage...except Rent. I will refuse to see any cast that is not the original (or mostly the original). I'm sure the other casts are great but I just love the people who played it originally.
