Books Animal Planet guinea pig book

I was in a consignment store the other day and in the back with the pet supplies was an Animal Planet book on guinea pigs. It was only a couple bucks, so I bought it and when I got home, I started flipping through it. I thought being Animal Planet it would have some good information in it, but for cages it said, "A cage 2 feet by 3 feet is ideal for a guinea pig". 2 feet by 3 feet is way too small for one guinea pig. It did mention the C&C cage, but only in one paragraph and didn't even mention the advantages of it.

I thought being made by Animal Planet that it would at least have some updated care information, but it was kind of disapointing. I think I'm just going to write my own care book, even if it will be just a rough draft for now. There are very few guinea pig books out there and even fewer that are up to date with good information

I love Animal Planet but they are sorely lacking in their knowledge about guinea pig care. They are also the ones who had a show on once about animal talent. In this show, a girl made her guinea pig "sing" by rubbing its fur back to front. The poor thing was screaming, not singing! And the host was laughing and clapping. Disgusting.

Instead of selling books, people just tell everyone "join the guineapigcages forum!" Then, everyone would know proper guinea pig care and we wouldn't be wasting paper and killing trees on incorrect information.

My mom is a substitute teacher in elementary schools and she read a book about guinea pigs to her class one day. Apparently the book said you could give guinea pigs bread soaked in milk and should give them mineral/salt licks.
