Do you think animals have dreams? And if they do, what would they dream about? Just something I been thinking about.

I really think that my dogs can dream. Diva will be asleep and moving her leg back and forth. Princess will do it as well. Might be dreaming about the next big walk we do. lol. :cheerful:

Oh yeah animals dream. My dog dreams when he's really tired. He yelps and his legs move a little like he's running. I'm sure he's on the beach in his dreams chasing sea gulls, as I don't allow him to chase birds and I know he wants to.

I think they can have nightmares too. Our dog I thkn has had a few, there has been a few times where she whimpers in her sleep like something is bugging her. I use to feel so bad when she did!

lol. That sounds like an awesome dream. My dogs don't like bugs, and decides to chase them when ever they see them. They never want to chase birds or anything, might be cause they are so small.

My old puppy, Scruffy, 18, used to run in her dreams. When she began to become able not to walk anymore, she would still move her legs like she was running.

She could not eat any more and she was abused when she was smaller. We resuced her and later began not to walk. She then lived for about 5 years not able to walk. She got this sores on the inside of her mouth and wasn't able to eat nor drink anything. We had to put her asleep on April 17, 2009.

I don't think I would be able to see any of my babies like that. But it makes me feel good she had someone that cared for her after a bad start. She prob would have said thank you if she could.

Jack often twitches in his sleep, and his little paws move. Tasha sometimes barks in her sleep. It is strange to watch!

I definitely believe animals dream. My mom came to New Orleans and brought her dog Dolchi (RIP) and he was laying on my sofa barking but still laying there asleep.

Oh yeah! Animals dream! It's so funny to watch my parent's dog, Lucy, go through REM cycles!

I've even caught my male guinea pig, Bodie, dreaming! He was moving his legs and had REM as well.

I think they can. Our cats meow in their sleep every once in a while, and when we had a dog he would bark these muffled barks in his sleep and sometimes whine.

Yes, it's funny to watch them dream! Sometimes I see my dog moving her paws and wagging her tail, she also sometimes might move her mouth and breath heavily or make a whining noise.

Yes!
I haven't really thought about what, but my cats twitch and move their paws in their sleep.

Our Dog, she defiantly dreams. But I think she dreams about her past and that her sister didn't come with us and she was alone with her sisters and brothers and not her mothers.
