Air Purifier recommendations?

Im thinking of getting and air purifier for my 12'x'11 room, the reason being is my allergies, though its not a hay allergy as I do keep my piggies and their hay in my room and they don't bother me at all, but rather I inherited my dad's pollen allergies and there are times of the year where its just the most awful thing to even breath.

Besides the meds I take for it, I read an air purifier would also help, and seeing as some people use them for dealing with hay allergies also. Do you guys have any recommendations for good ones for a single room for in the $40-$60 price range?

Possibly check with Home Depot, Lowes or some dept store like that. You could go online and to a research check and see what is recemended.

I use a Therapure mini tower.
I forget the max room dimensions it is designed for but I use it in a space that is around 12x11.
I got it at Wal Mart for around $60.
It works great.
Good luck. I have horrible allergies and am asthmatic.
Takes a lot to keep me breathing sometimes LOL

Did you find an air purifier that works for the smell as well as allergies? I change my fleece and uhaul pads every 3 days, and I still get a musty smell.

I have that same air filter from BBB, and I can say it takes care of smell :) cleans everything from the air! There are different sizes, so you can find one that fits your room size and price range.

It has great ratings on the website too! That might be the one I have to get.

I love my (broken link removed). I have it in my home office and the filters take care of pet dander and hay very well.

hmmm don't know if it's true but it says...

This Filtrete™ Air Purifier offers more air circulation and a higher dust and pollen capture rate than a comparable HEPA Air Purifier.* For rooms up to 160 square feet.

Interesting. Wish one of us was filthy rich so we could do a project over several months to test different air purifiers LOL

I agree with spy9doc- I have the same one and it is awesome- gets out the boar smell in a few hours with the door closed! Awesome Christmas gift!

Yea I just read into the filtrete one and it needs filters replaced every couple of months and they are expensive. How often do you have to change your filters?

I change my filters every three months. I have asthma, so I had this system for a long time before I got my piggies. And sometimes, when we have indoor barbeque, it clears up the smell almost instantly. Yeah, you get what you pay for, that is true in this case. Again, if you have the money, this the one the pick. My husband is a fanatic about doing research on getting the best for the money.

I got mine for Christmas, run it pretty much non stop, and the "change filter light" hasn't com eon yet

I picked up the homedics HEPA filter 4 days ago from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and it is amazing! I got the 99 dollar one for large rooms. But I signed up my email address on their website and got it for 20% off. There is absolutely no smell anymore!!
