I just weighed my piggers with my fancy-schmancy new kitchen scale...I know, I know, almost two months and I just got the scale today. I'm a horrible mother x_X

At any rate, when I adopted, I was told that they were both almost 8 months old and from the same litter. This was almost two months ago. While I don't doubt they are brothers and are the same age, what I am unsure of is whether or not to doubt their age itself--My scale just "informed" me that Miko weighs 2 lbs 8oz and Taiko weighs a whopping 2 lbs 12 oz. Is this a "normal" weight for two 10 month old piggers, and if not, how old do you think they really are? I had no reason to doubt the "parents" (they were re-homed from an unwanted pregnancy), but do you think that they may have stretched the truth to make it more likely that someone would adopt?

I'm going to the vet next tuesday for a routine check up and I'll ask him to re-weigh, but it doesn't really seem like the scale is lying. Any imput would be great, I'm so confused! o_O

Sounds just fine.

I was hoping that it was...I just couldn't believe how big they were, especially considering they aren't even a year old yet!

they are at the end of puberty though, they may grow more fat but the length is pretty much done.

Piggies gain weight at different rates. I don't think you have a problem with their weights though. CoCo is about the same age as your boys and she weighs probably around 3 lbs. You're not a bad piggie mom, I don't have a scale yet either, but will be getting one off Ebay as soon as I get paid for a large order of cavy caves that was placed a couple days ago.

Sounds right to me. Mine are approx. 8 months old and both weight approx. 2 lbs. 4 ounces.
