I have built a new cage for Sparkle and Peppermint using coroplast and grid similar to a lot of photos I have seen. What is the best lining for a cage? I have tried newspaper (too slippery), towels (cleaning and expensive), towels with paper towel on top (better but not great). Any tips?

I like towels and use a hand vacume to sweep up the mess between trades then i have 2 and wash one and put one in the cage.

I have news paper- vet bed ( i think that's what it's called)- and then one towel over teh whole thing. I really like this set up becuase I only have to change the towel every other day. every night I clean out all the poo and such. If the towel isn't that dirty then I just rinse it and then let it dry instead of washing it. I change the vet bed about every 5-8 days because somedays it is really dirty and others there is nothing. I wish my boys would just make up their minds :)

Um... I wouldn't recommend putting paper towels on top, they may eat them. Towels are not expensive when you think about it in the long run. Yes, it may cost a lot at first (when you buy 3 or 4 towels) but then thats it - no more cost.

I too use vetbeds one week and towels the next. I love both setups
