Adoption Event & Photos with Santa
TOMORROW Saturday, December 4th, 2010
11am to 4pm in Petsmart at 3610 Rosecrans St. San Diego, CA 92110

Greetings fellow cavy slaves! I wanted to extend an invitation to all you GPC Forum members to attend Wee Companions' adoption event TOMORROW, Saturday December 4th, 2010 in San Diego, California. We will be hosting an adoption event from 11am to 2 pm in the Petsmart at 3610 Rosecrans St., San Diego, CA 92110.

There, you can meet their many dedicated volunteers and some of their wonderful animals, including guinea pigs, rats, mice, hamsters, and rabbits. If you'd like to see a specific animal there, please hurry and email our director to request to meet the animal of interest: [email protected].

They will also be having Photos with Santa during this time as well, in the same location. Pets and children are invited for photos with Santa! 50% of the proceeds are donated back to Wee Companions to help them take care of their animals. Please come out and support their animals!

I hope to see you there! ;)

The Santa pictures sound like an awesome way to raise money for a good cause! I'm on the East coast so I won't be attending, but I hope everything goes well and you guys find good homes for the rescue piggies!

I [begrudgingly] agreed to be an elf. It's all for a good cause, though, so I'm happy to help. If you attend, I'll be the one talking in a high-pitched voice and making myself look like a fool so the dogs/rats/guinea pigs/cats will look at the camera. :)

I won't be able to attend unfortunately (although I would love to get the pigs pictures taken with Santa!!) but I just wanted to say how this rescue is fabulous! I recently adopted a piggy from there and there animals looked well taken care of and very happy. The people were extremely helpful and nice and have called to check up on the new pig :cheerful: If I lived a bit closer I would definitely volunteer! In fact I still might! Thanks for helping out the pigs with your elf duties lol!!

I will be there!! :) Hopefully to adopt Anastasia (I am going to rename her Millie) and maybe take a picture with Santa! :) Will you be there?

Oh yay! I will be there. I'm the "junior" volunteer named Cassandra. You'll have to introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting you! I'll be bringing two of my foster pigs, and maybe my other two pigs for pictures. It should be fun!

Sorry if that doesn't make the quote thing. I am not sure how to do it! Anyways, I will be sure to introduce myself! I will probably be there right when it starts if not a little bit before! I am so excited and I am excited to meet you! :) I am a little nervous if I do end up bringing Millie home because she is my first guinea pig!

I wish I lived in california!!! I live on the east coast of canada, but GOOD LUCK!

Good luck, have fun, and raise a whole bunch for those little guys!

It's great that you're adopting. Many people sadly don't know about rescues like Wee Companions, and still fewer know the issues surrounding pet stores. I'm glad you made the right choice to adopt instead of support pet store cruelty.

Don't be nervous about taking her home. If you ever have any questions, this forum is happy to help. You can always PM me, too. ;)

We had a very successful adoption event! Fourteen--yes, fourteen--animals were adopted. Of course, there is a "but" to this situation. That was set off by eight animals that came in, though. A simple request from a caring supporter of rescues and shelters: please ensure there is absolutely no other option before you relinquish an animal to a rescue. They're really in no better shape than the common people in this economy.

So, how did pictures with Santa go? I would love to see your pictures you got done :)
