Adopting a 2nd piggie

Hi!

As most of you may known by now , I'm new to the site, this is my second day. My piggie (Marcel) got an upgrade cage yesterday; a nice 2x4 ivory colored Coroplast and SS grid setup. I have it up on a folding table and will be getting a 5' x 30" table top tomorrow (actually a hollow-core door), then I will create his 2nd floor loft (2x1) and ramp so he can get exercise and a view.

Onto my question... When I get Marcel (6-10 months old) a playmate, what exactly am I looking for? Marcel is an un-neutered male. My wife has concerns about males fighting, and we don't want to breed them...so what can you folks recommend?

you can get 2 males and most of the time they dont fight.
You can also get a female/male pair and get one or both neutured

Marcel is in a tough spot age wise (puberty) and generally you want to match up an older boar with a younger boar and vice versa. So for Marcel, you either want to get a baby boar (1-3 months old) or an older boar (over 2 years). Another option is to neuter Marcel and get him a girlfriend. A pet store cage is suitable for this short time. Then you must introduce on neutral territory. Then if they are fine and you put them in the cage together, it must be cleaned and free of scents.
