Do you guys think I should add my four pigs together? I was planning on it originally, but something's telling me not to...I think I just might be scared that it wont be a poositive experiance for them. If you had four girls, would you keep them in pairs, or do you think they would be happier in a flock?? lol

Why not just let them out for floor time at the same time and see how they get along?

I think they would be much happier in a herd. They would have to establish a new pecking order, as you just have two dominant and two submissive sows. You could connect their cages as a first step, keeping the divider there. I wouldn't let them in together just yet, they should get used to each other. When you do introduce them, do so according to www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm (scroll down).

ok, that's what I thought too, and I did read that thing on cavy spirit before I decided to get two more and I decided to do the bath thing, I think that'll work best. I'm going to give them their baths as my hubby cleans and sanitizes the cage and then give them floor time as I dry them to see how it goes. Do you think that an hour would be a good amount of time to see if their going to get along?? And do you guys have any other suggestions that worked for you?? Any advise would be great!!

i havnt been in this situation before, so all i can offer is...GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I had a three by six cage. I have ten pigs altogether. I had five girls in the big cage and they didn't really need all of the space, so I divided the cage into four areas, two larger and two smaller, by putting a big X shaped screen wall through the middle.

I have the five girls on one end. These came from two sources, and get along. Two girls from another source that don't get along well with the others are on the opposite end.

In the middle two sections I have a male on one side and two males, one is neutered, on the opposite.

This arrangement seems to work pretty well. The piggies all kind of congregate around the X or hang out by themselves. Take the X out and the girls would fight, the boys would fight, and the boys would be chasing the girls, the girls would be running, and the neutered male would be all upset. Separated but close, they all seem quite happy and relaxed.

Sounds like a good plan to me!

Great, I thought you had read that, just making sure. Hope it goes well!
