Okay, I can finally get around to doing this (now that my moms cancer treatment is done). I have felt terrible about the cage our Tbunny has been in. Of course I try to give him as much time out of it so this isn't a problem. He's out in the morning for a couple hours and for quite a while in the evening, he just goes in to nap during the day and when we're not home.
I'm a little bit challenged in the building something on my own dept. I think I'm starting to understand this though. It looks like most people have basically used those stacking cubes? I saw some two weeks ago at Costco, a large multi-colored set. I'm thinking I might pick them up today so I can get to work on this.
My problem is I am building on top of an exsisting store bought cage. I can't just scrap this cage after spending $60 on it. It fits perfectly into the amount of space I have for a cage. It was the biggest one I could find anywhere. Here is a link https://www.petco.com/product_info....1707&c3=&ct1=Rabbits&ct2=Cages+&+Habitats&ct3=# This cage has big plastic corner pieces that look like they will be in the way when trying to attach a second floor. Ideas?
Can anyone give me ideas on how to ad to this with the cubes? Do I just need some zip ties and, linoleum for flooring to make the second level? I'm going to have to cut the current top door off, which takes up 1/2 of the cage lid to make an acceptable whole for him to get up through I think (not that I'll actually leave the opening that wide) How do I ad a new door to the top of the second layer? Also, what can I put on the bottom floor that will help him get to the second? I could use some help with this. Thanks for the advice.
