Hi,
I currently have two square Midwest cages (each is 48" x 48"). I've been pondering how to expand upwards and add a loft. I do use the lids and as one of the cages is close to a window I'm concerned a loft at lid height might be draughty.
I've started thinking about adding the loft within the existing space. With the fleece flippers in the cage, there's 13 inches from the flipper to the wire lid. I was thinking I could add a loft about halfway, i.e 7.5 inches off the floor. I thought I could make the loft 48 inches (full width of each cage) by either 12 or 18 inches, and have a ramp at each end. I think this would also have the advantage of giving them somewhere to hide underneath too!
Do you think this would work? Has anyone done something similar with a C&C or Midwest and added a loft at half height?
Thanks!
