She's three weeks old, and I SO love her colour and face...

But a 4 x 3 cage is too small for five pigs, isn't it? Please tell me that it is.

J/k. How many do you have? If you have all sows, you can fudge a bit on size or add a loft.

I have three sows and one neutered boar, and I absolutely can't make the cage bigger without throwing out an armchair or climbing over said armchair whenever I get into or out of the room. Of course, I'm planning to move into a bigger appartment soon...

Loft is a good idea though.

Ok, I'll help. Don't get the cute, adorable guinea pig that's just looking for a new home. Ignore the sweet eyes. Don't wonder what her wheek would sound like or picture her running around with your guinea pigs. Is it working yet?

I would get her! She's so adorable. I'm sure it would be hard to make a second level, to add more room, so you can get another pig.

So now it will be 5. You do know that you will never stop. After 5 comes 6, then 7, even 8. Where does it end. Then when you have 10 and of course you cant give the same attention to 10 as you did for the original 4, you may start questioning your predicament. When will it ever stop? Who's to say you wont go for 15?

I'm sorry, it's real hard to think of ANYTHING negative about piggies!

Build the loft. on a 4 by 3, you could do a loft of either 2 by 3, or 4 by 2, or 2 by 2, 2 by 3 L shape with the ramp coming off the 2 by 3 part lengthwise to the bottom. That would allow a shallow slope on the ramp and a nice little area up top.

You will just have to build up. Use some 2x4s to make a frame with legs so that you can build a new cage a couple of feet above the old one.

Place the new pig in the new cage...of course that means you will have to also get her a new friend or two.

Leave it to me to have to be the sensible one. What happens if your new piggy does not get along with the others. Oh well, have to build another cage, oh well, have to get another piggy as a mate to this one. oh well, everyone was fine now all my piggies are sick, oh well, oh well.

DO whatever you think is best and remember to keep in mind how many piggies you can manage. The piggie is very cute though.

She looks just like my Moppy but with slightly shorter hair. If you can afford to take care of her and have space, then adopt her. If you can somehow even extend your cage out by another 2x1 or 2x2 it would be enough space.
