A tumor?

Today when I was trimming Peanut's nails I notcied that she had a tumor on her hind leg. It was about the size of my thumb nail, maybe a little smaller. Should I take her to the vet? What kindof tumor could it be? Do guinea pigs usually get tumors and can they die from them? Any info will help.

I would get her to a vet asap just to rule about the possiblty that it's a cancerious tumor. If it's cancerious, it might cost a lot for the meds or it might not I'm not sure, and it might not go away. If it's not cancerious, then thats ok I know plenty of animals that live with tumors and are just fine. But either way I'd go to the vet asap.

Yeah, get her to the vet. My mom's dog has a bini tumor and she lives a very happy life. So, you need to find out.

Thanks, I will talk to my mom and have her check it out(sheis a nurse). Two of my dogs have fatty tumors and are fine and my friend's two dogs both have like 10 fatty tumors. I will hopefully take her to the vet, we are going on Friday anyway so maybe I can take her then. Thanks for all the info.

The only thing I can add is: Is the growth or bump new? When did it appear? It could just be a normal thing for your piggy.

GL's medical board would be a good place to ask that question. I believe several people there have had pigs with tumors.
