I've recently been told that adding a third Guinea is not a good idea. Apparently when there are three, one is always the outsider, has anyone else heard this ? ? ?

ive heard it but never had a problem ive added a 3rd to groups of 2 mnay times and never had one :)

I have had three gps living quite happily together. They are herd animals and the love all the company. I curantly have three females and a nuetered male living together, and two males. One is not nuetered yet and the other is three months old. Im only watching the little male and as soon as Sam is nutered and ready he will get one of my three girls to keep him company. I hope this helped.

I think it's nonsense too - I've introduced several outsiders to previously tight-knit pairs, and once they've got to know each other and sorted out who's going to be boss it's fine! As tashagurl says, they are a herd animals so living in groups is usually when they're at their happiest.
