are the boxes you are talking about corrugated plastic? I heard some where it is not safe for piggies to chew. I think @pinky knows more about it than I do.
@Traysea I have the same setup. Patio height second level. I have 2 grids over it in fear of them jumping out. Have yours ever attempted anything like that?
I used those instructions, bought black !safe! Grids from bed, bath, & beyond and I got my coro from home depot. 3 sheets of coro was enough for a 2x3 (2 pieces taped together) and a 1x2 loft (1piece) it worked out perfectly!
I love love love my loft! It keeps my cage much cleaner. My girls pooh and pee 90% of the time up there. It also keeps the hay in one place. I have carefresh in my loft so you can pick up any loose bedding in the fleece and put it back. One thing I don't put up there is the waterbottle because...
There are many good places to adopt pigs from. Try guineapigzone, petfinder, or search around for some shelters nearby. But please do not go to a pet store!
For the fleece put down plenty of old towels or uhaul pads over the shower curtain. I once saw a YouTube video where this lady had hers in a closet also. As for the water bottle there are some I believe that stick to the wall. Sorry it isn't much but hopefully its some what helpful ✨Meghan
I had the same problem. My two girls would put it everywhere but since re doing my cage I have wasted less hay and have been able to keep the cage cleaner. My kitchen is a second level so any hay gets caught on the ramp instead of messing the whole cage. Heres a pic of my cage
Personally I would absolutely put more coro or plexi glass. The males go crazy when they sense a female in heat. I've heard stories about males doing anything to mate. So I would take your husbands advice. Oh and please post some pigtures ✨Meghan
