If I have a cardboard box that was for something like pop, and it has printing on the side is that safe for guinea pigs? Also if I have a corrugated box with industrial and commercial printing and barcodes on the sides and it's been handled in the backroom of a store is that safe?
I tried doing floortime with my guinea pigs and I've tried various methods of keeping them in one spot. I've tried putting blocks at the doorways of the room I use (there is a doorway with out a door) and I've tried forming a pen out of extra grids.
Either way, the two boars break out like...
There's a rather extravagant pet store in old town Lansing. It is the largest family owned pet store in Michigan. I wanted to look into getting a friend for my two pigs, I look at the humane society and the former local pig rescue became into doing shows.
So I saw guinea pigs in large...
I buy an all purpose cleaner from Seventh Generation that is Natural and non-toxic with no fumes or anything. If it is swallowed the only thing to do is drink a glassful of water.
Do you think this would be safe to use in my guinea pig cage?
...their evolved form would be capybaras. They look like advanced forms of guinea pig. Which makes sense since they are in the same family.
Capibaras are cool and their population is of least concern!
I cut up a cucumber for myself to eat and I had scraps from where I cut the skin off which had some of the "meat" and then skin. I was thinking about feeding it to my cavies, but I didn't know if cucumbers were okay for them to eat. I have them eating Cavy Cuisine, Hay, Lettuce, Roma Tomatoes...
What do I put on the bottom of a hay loft? Just more fleece? I was concerned because I like the idea of a little place just for hay, but I am afraid if I don't put anything under it, they'll pee and poop and it will stick together and form a nasty mess on the bottom.
I was wondering if it was safe to use a blow dryer on a pig? I haven't used one because I didn't think it was safe, but when I try using a towel, they don't get dry very quickly and I have to put them back in their cage and it isn't perfectly clean either.
I am concerned about a lump about a quarter in diameter on the back of one of my pigs. It has hair on it, it just is like a firm but soft lump on his lower back. I don't know what it is!
I want to get my pigs a cozie that I see in lots of pictures, but I don't know what they are called in stores. What are the made for?
Also, can I put them in the washing machine?C
My cavies have learned that biting the grids is more effective at getting my attention than squeaking. I did pay attention to the squeaking, but I paid more attention when they started biting the grids because I was afraid that they would break their teeth on it, and one of them did.
I'm...
I finally found a store that sells Oxbow hay and pellets.
I bought my two boars Oxbow Cavy Cuisine pellets.
I have been using Meijer's brand and I intend to use the switch over to Cavy Cuisine that is on the bag.
My question is : What volume of Oxbow pellets should I give daily to two...
