How do your pigs like to cuddle?

Olena demands that I never touch her, she doesn't cuddle haha. And Frisk is still learning that people are okay, slowly but surely. But she's 6 weeks old, I've had her for 3 of those weeks. I'd be more surprised if she was already 100% okay with me But Nym either wants to be stuffed under my...

My guinea pigs favorite thing in the world is "fill in the blank*

Depends on the pig LOL Olena: my guinea pigs favorite thing in the whole world is food. Doesn't matter what kind. Just food. Nym: my guinea pigs favorite thing in the whole world is snuggle sacks. Frisk: my guinea pigs favorite thing in the whole world is yelling as loud as she possibly can.

    Diet Feeding a Baby

@jaycriae The only areas of real concern have been in the baby only area, which the older two can't get into. 90% of the pee I see looks fine. it's just a spot or two in the main cage and the baby's private zone.

    Diet Feeding a Baby

In regards to the baby. Should I be watching her pee for calcium levels? I know since she's younger she does need a lot more calcium than the adults, and she gets about a tablespoon of parsley a day I'd estimate. Is that too much? I've noticed a few slightly whiter than normal pees, and since...

    Vet First Aid Kit

I wasn't sure to put as the prefix, but a post on a pet FB group got me thinking. In the post, someones guinea pig was hurt, but due to a blizzard they were unable to get to an emergency vet. I want to make a first aid kit for my pets, just so that in the event it is not possible for me to get...

    Diet Feeding a Baby

Trying to think of it in measurement terms, just so I know roughly how much. The adults split about 2 cups between them. I made up something separate for the baby. I'd say she likely had less than 1/4th cup today, broken up between two meals.

    Diet Feeding a Baby

@jaycriae How much should I feed her daily? I'm not sure how much would be normal and now much extra. She's 181 grams as of this morning, and like I said almost 4 weeks old. She seems happy to eat whatever I put in.

    Diet Feeding a Baby

I recently welcomed a baby piggie into my herd and she's doing great! Was born 11-27-16 so jut approaching 4 weeks old. She has her own little walled off section of the cage where only she can get to, and I have unlimited pellets there, but should I do unlimited veggies as well? So far she has...

    General Bringing In a Baby

@bpatters. Sorry if I am getting annoying with the tagging but I want to make sure I did alright haha xD Does this setup work or would putting the hide back in be better? And is the entrance/exit okay?

    General Bringing In a Baby

Changed up the inside. She's got her food bowl, little hay pile, a water bottle, and a fleece snuggle sack folded up into a bed. I think she's a little intimidated by the older two. But I don't want her just hiding from them because I want the to see and smell each other. Nym sadly has he...

Upside down for whatever reason, but that's the bolt hole. She's been using it :) Mostly because Nym likes popcorning around the cage and that level of activity is a bit much for her haha

Right now. She can get out of there. She's able to go out from under the bottom of it. There's a space about as tall as one of the gaps in the bars under it. That way she can get in and out but the older pigs can't, and less risk of being stuck

    General Bringing In a Baby

And I found a baby xD Apparently it is guinea pig breeding time. TBH I was afraid this would happen. The local petstore switched from females to males a couple months back, and I am sure a lot of people are buying a friend for their pig a friend and ending up with litters. Here's my baby...

Looking For Female Pig, Northern Wyoming

Hello! I am in northern Wyoming, near the Montana border. I'm looking to add a third pig to my herd. It does need to be a neutered male, or a female pig as they will be living with my two existing females :) I can drive a bit, but with the roads as they are I'd rather not have to travel too far...

    General Bringing In a Baby

Well sadly, it looks like the baby is a no go after all. We double checked since they are a bit older and it's easier to tell...And they're all male :( Mama is bonded with Grandma and I don't have space for 4 total. So for now I keep hunting.

    General Bringing In a Baby

I'll just do that for a couple weeks until I can find something better. I might also do where instead of through the bars, I have where I just raise one of the walls a couple inches off the ground. High enough she can slip under but the older girls can't. And it's harder for them to get stuck if...

    General Bringing In a Baby

They shouldn't be unless the pig puts in a LOT of effort xD and I provide better stuff to chew on And Barbarasmudge is right :) it's 3x3 I do not know why that came in upside down, but there's the girls eating breakfast xDD Bell pepper and radicchio. edit: @bpatters OH. And for the baby's...

Would plastic lattice work? It's what the lid of their cage is made from so I have a lot. this stuff. here it is on the cage But I could zip tie it on pretty easy and it wouldn't absorb pee like cardboard. Olena is around 4-5 years, I'm not sure exactly. I got her when she was already well...
