Dominance One sister keeps trying to mount the other sister :(

Thank you so much for the link. I will have to keep this in mind and monitor her behavior to see if it gets worse. And thank you shc1192 for the reassurance :)

Dominance One sister keeps trying to mount the other sister :(

Thank you. I guess I just thought that they would have figured out who's the boss by now. I'm just worried about poor little Iris who keeps running away wheeking at her sister lol

Dominance One sister keeps trying to mount the other sister :(

I've read that this can be normal, even with females, and that it should eventually work itself out. But Rhea keeps mounting her sister Iris's head and I don't know what to do. It's been almost constant all day today and I can tell that Iris is annoyed by it because she keeps running away. I had...

    Eyes/Non-crusty Squinty, irritated eye?

BNP ointment, twice daily for 7-10 days. She told me to watch Iris for pawing at her eye since bacitracin is toxic if ingested (which I already knew). But she hasn't even bothered her eye since we brought her home on Saturday so I don't think it's hindering her that much.

    Eyes/Non-crusty Squinty, irritated eye?

Diagnosis is conjunctivitis. But the doctor also said that her left eye is naturally (or unnaturally, depending on you look at it) smaller than her right eye, probably always will be. Possibly from a genetic mutation, possibly not :o We shall see.

    Eyes/Non-crusty Squinty, irritated eye?

Yeah I think it will help her out :) I just checked her eye again and it's stuck shut with some kind of gunk. Doesn't look yellow, maybe white-ish. She's still eating both pellets & hay, drinking and running around, so at least she can still get around okay. Fortunately only about 2 and a half...

    Eyes/Non-crusty Squinty, irritated eye?

I will do that, thank you! I have an appointment scheduled for 5pm for both Iris and Rhea with my local exotics vet. Might as well get them both checked out if I'm going to have Iris looked at. Plus maybe they won't be AS stressed out if they're together.

    Eyes/Non-crusty Squinty, irritated eye?

I'm wondering if I should take Rhea as well to see if there's anything wrong that I can't see...

    Eyes/Non-crusty Squinty, irritated eye?

I won't be able to get her to a vet until tomorrow unfortunately. Earliest I can make it is about 1:45, because I have class. My college has an excellent veterinary program so I'm sure the vet hospital is fantastic. As far as I can tell, there's nothing under the eyelid or hay poking into the...

    Eyes/Non-crusty Squinty, irritated eye?

I just noticed that one of Iris' eyes appears to be irritated. I'm not sure what it is or how long it's been like this, since we just got her yesterday. She appears to be eating and drinking just fine, and finished off the veggie platter by herself earlier while her sister nommed on some hay...

Photos Pigtures of my two girls!

Thank you everyone  I was thinking that they're only a couple of months old, because they don't eat very much of anything yet. I'm having a hard time getting them to eat alfafa as well  They go for the timothy and meadow hay. Thanks for the help!

Photos Pigtures of my two girls!

Thank you! I'm so happy they're home. I don't know what breed or color they are either; I'm not very good with those things. So if anyone could help that would be awesome :)

Photos Pigtures of my two girls!

I finally got my guinea piggies yesterday. I've been planning this for over a month and I'm excited that my girls are finally home. I'm unsure as to how old they are :o This is their cage. It's a 3x3 C&C cage that my father actually put together entirely by himself, lol. They're missing their...

    Hi!

Thanks for the welcome guys! I wish I could make it all the way to Indiana but that definitely isn't an option right now :P I will post some pictures of the cage empty, full, and then full with piggies when I get them in the near future! The grids are 14 inches (which mine are, I had to make...

    Hi!

Hi everyone! I'm Breanna, and I figured that I should introduce myself. I just turned 20 today and I don't really know what else to say about myself! I'm a junior in college and I have a deep love for animals. I have three pets of my own: a four year old Pomeranian named Kujo, a hybrid dwarf...
