What gender pets do you normally like?

I generally like females better. Normally have a sweeter disposition and usually less smelly. Though I usually prefer geldings when it comes to horses.

What breed? Are roan guineas ok? And ethics...

I haven't heard roans having any more health problems than any other color of guinea pigs. And not all white guinea pigs have problems only the lethal ones. Also it is dangerous for any guinea pig to breed it is not just color/breed specific. Breeding is discouraged because it is really...

Ratties Ferret Kingdom Cage. Can bar spacing be fixed?

I got a ferret kingdom cage for free. I know the bar spacing is too big (7/8 inch) but I would like to make this cage work. I plan on getting two female rats young, I know they could escape out of it so is there anything I can do to escape proof the cage before I get the rats? I have another...

    Adopting Difficulty adopting.

Can't say I agree with that. The last two dogs I got from a shelter had problems...one had mange and the other got parvo within a week of me taking her home (spent over 350 in the two weeks that followed)

    General How to hide pigs?

I got a sugar glider a few years back unexpectedly on a trip and the hotel didn't allow pets. My family and I put a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and kept him in a room with the door shut (it was a big hotel room with like 3 or 4 rooms). If you have the choice to get a hotel that allows pets...

    Adopting Difficulty adopting.

I agree the application can be a pain. I've adopted several animals from shelters and each one's process is a little different. The problem I have is they ask all these questions but I have NEVER had anyone follow up, to me it seems pointless that way because I could easily lie and they would...

Ratties Questions about smell: Female Rats VS Female Guinea Pigs?

Yea I'm not worried about a few holes I just didn't want to have to completely replace fleece weekly because of holes, and they will have a lot of toys because I know they need a lot of amusement. How often do you all wash your fleece?

Ratties Questions about smell: Female Rats VS Female Guinea Pigs?

I am planning on adopting 2 female rats (craigslist or rescue) at the end of October/beginning of November after me and my boyfriend move into a new place. The only problem he has with any animal is smell (I have 4 piggies and a 2x8 cage, hermit crabs, and a dog so he clearly has no problem with...

C&C Cage is feeling small. Ways to make it feel bigger?

I think it should be enough space for two girls as long as they got along well. I don't think a loft would be recommended because the ramp would take too much space. If you have room to expand you'd be surprised how much bigger a 2x5 would seem compared to a 2x4 but it isn't necessary to expand...
