Bonding The multi-boar deliema - Trio of young boars to an adult boar.

Long time no see. Lot of changes in my piggy situation, but I am hopeing to get some advice. As a preface: I know the trials and tribulations of multi boar ownership. I have only ever had boars, though I was looking into getting females.... but boys won out. I am sure I'll be crying later...

Mine didn't have any red spots. His mouth looks totally normal, aside from his missing teeth.

Teeth Issues Eating, won't bite down with any force.

He's super tiny as is (barely 2lbs) so I am always watching his weight. And thanks! I'll do that!

Teeth Issues Eating, won't bite down with any force.

He is eating pellets and it looks as if the teeth are now gone! Really not sure what caused all this but he seems in less pain now. He even managed some carrot! Will keep an eye to make sure they grow back ok.

Teeth Issues Eating, won't bite down with any force.

I noticed this morning and last night he is trying to eat. He was eating hay with no issue. He seems to be eating his pellets, will check after work to be sure he still is but he was when I saw him this morning. He also ate a sprig of parsley without issue. I'll hand feed his veggies...

Teeth Issues Eating, won't bite down with any force.

I noticed this morning that Bear (approx. 3yrs old) had not eaten his bell pepper he had been given the night before. When I gave him his veggies tonight he seemed to gobble up his parsley but did not touch his lettuce or bell pepper. When I sat with him I noticed he didn't try to bite me like...

Aggression People aggressive rescue piggy, Interested in advice

No we think he's full grown. Though I will make sure he hasn't continued to grow. I can try and get a picture of his feet, I'm just curious if they are normal. They just look weird to me when I compare them to my other boys. But when I goggle feet I either get stuff about multple toes or...

Aggression People aggressive rescue piggy, Interested in advice

He doesn't have any mite symptoms really. When I got him he had very dry skin, which I was concerned could be mites, but after some digging found it could also likely be just the result of poor grooming because of the unusual teddy coat. We gave him the bath with a moisterizing/soothing...

Aggression People aggressive rescue piggy, Interested in advice

Just curious if others have had similar experiences and perhaps advice to make sure my little troublemaker is happy. So a little over a month ago I brought home another pet store rescue, Roosevelt. This one was dumped at a Petco, and had been there about 6mo or so, in the back room with the...

Behavior Are guinea pigs less active as they age?

Mine have, not in a horrible way but in that natural sorta, I'm an adult now way. Porcupine still gets all hyper at times and is the most jumpy of the lot, he runs around the most of them. Odair has never been one for popcorns and zoomies but once in a while he'll get in the mood. especially...

General Is there a way to age a guinea pig?

I can sympathize. One of my rescues is physically half the size of one of my non-rescues, he only weights about a pound or so less though. He was dumped at a pet store as well (both my rescues were actually...) and at the time my two brothers were tiny babies so I didn't realize how small he...

Behavior How odd...Piggies were crazy and now went to sleep! All 5!

My boys do that, they all seem to pass out at the same time. Then if one of them gets up to move around or eat or drink the rest jump up and start rumbling or wandering about. And the four are separated into three different cages. But it doesn't matter, one moves they all do.

Cage Let's see your cage Pictures please.

My cage has changed a lot since I last posted a pic here. XD It went from a 4ft by 4ft to a 6x4, and from one section, to two sections, to three. Xp I'm unlucky in the rescue dept. it seems, both my rescues need their own space. But here is my cage atm. I hate how small it looks, but until I...

    Are chemicals safe around guineas?

The rule i've learned is avoid them. Their respritory systems are very sensitive and perfumes and air fresheners aren't the gentlest things. Shampoos with fragrences aren't good either, they can be to harsh. I even had issues using a shampoo ment dor tiny baby kittens. I've used a extra gentle...

Behavior Adopted Old Pig - Can old pigs learn new tricks?

He isn't that old. They can get up to 10 years in some cases (though your more likely to see 6-8 years). XD Just keep offering him attention. Be extra gentle and keep laptime short and consistant. He'll likely start to warm up but it may be slow. He sounds like my first rescue. Bear is...

Diet How do I get my piggies to eat their veg?

Both my reascues were picky eaters. With Bear he'd eat carrots and lettuce, nothing else. I tried out the brighter colored bell peppers, giving just a little bit for a week, every night. Eventually he started eating it. Roosevelt was harder. He got used to the lettuce within a few days but...

Joy Why do YOU keep guinea pigs?

I had piggies when i was a kid and ever since I got and we later got rid of my puff ball Fry I've always had them in my mind. When my brother moved I jokingly said I'd replace him with a guinea pig. I made good on that a week or so after he left. Just couldnt stop thinking about it and th pet...

Photos of you AND your piglets!

The only pictures I have of me and the piggies is with the brothers, Odair and Porcupine. I did a little picture thing for their one year birthday/home coming. The smaller pictures is them the night they came home (at 3mo.) and the larger one is exactly one year later. My two rescues are not...

Size TOO big of a cage?

I plan on eventually having a 10ftx10ft space for my boys. Granted my two rescues don't get along with each other or my two brothers so I want to give them that size to see if it'll make it easier for them to keep away from each other when they get pissy. or at least be able to section it up to...
