So I haven't been on for a very long time, because I've been busy with school and everything. But a few months ago I adopted 2 guinea pigs. Dinah, a (white and brown) long hair, and Lily, a (black and white) short hair. Dinah has integrated into the main herd (Star, Pudge and Pix) very well, but...
Don't let your pigs have the beat pulp; It almost killed one of the horses we board when the owner insisted she needed it. Grrr. Poor girl almost choked too death. Bad, bad. And about fifty other ingredients that others have pointed out.
So for quite awhile now, I have been looking into getting another small animal. At first a hedgehog was my best bet, but then it amounted to about 500+ for the hedgehog, shipping, cage... Now I have narrowed it down to these:
Rabbit
Mice
Chinchilla
Rat
If anyone could give me the pros and cons...
Can you guys give me some reasons why guinea pigs should not swim? I'm trying to convince some owners but they won't listen because I don't have very many reasons :expressio I'm scared for the well being of their piggies so I need more evidence. Thanks.
I was thinking about submitting this to Fox News or CNN. It would be an interesting story; The pet that we all had as a kid is taking on a new meaning. So many people would be able to see all the work and responsibility guinea pigs are. If I don't submit it before the movie comes out, though, it...
I personally think leaving them alone for a bit of the day is better than having them freeze at night or escape or eat poison... ect. And no offense, but I think your being a tad dramatic there with the whole fire thing. But I would probably be scared to leave my piggies on their own too =D
Does anyone on here have hedgehogs or know a lot about them? I'm trying to learn as much about them because I'm interested in adopting one and first I'll have to get through my parents, so I'll need to be armed with some info. So if anyone has any websites or info about them, I'd love to know...
Most definately! I would first tell them what the previous posters mentioned about your pig needing a buddy. Then talk to them about the importance of rescuing. Make sure you have solid and sound facts -just don't give a huge lecture that goes on for hours; Try to condence it all down into about...
Like just because they do, no because they're sick? I ask because the pigs have been sneezing more than I usually notice. It started with Star, who I put in the quarentine cage after a whole fit of sneezing (would have rushed her to the vet, but it was midnight and there is no emergency small...
It doesn't matter which countries are overpopulated. Let's say someone from Canada* was planning to adopt a shelter guinea pig from the USA but then it dies because the Canadian* changed his/her mind and got a pig from a local breeder.
* I have nothing against Canadians. This was just an example :)
