I originally posted this as Central California only but my situation has changed. I will be moving to Southern California in mid-June and can transport anywhere along this route.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. I would not even consider separating the two, they must go together. Keep me in mind if you hear of anyone in the Fresno area that may be interested.
Due to a divorce I can no longer keep my two boys. I am looking for an experienced cavy owner or someone willing to do the research on proper care, etc.

I am so interested in reading replies to this post. I think you may be headed for trouble but I am no expert. I had to rehome a boar and try again with another just to get a pair that would bond.
I guess Im just over worried because I had to rehome another boar for fighting with the oldest. They just never got along even though I separated until puberty passed, did buddy baths, etc. It broke my heart and I dont want to go through that again.

Yes, she (make sure it is actually a female) needs a buddy and a much bigger cage than you have. Take your time to read all the posts (especially the sticky notes) and you will find everything you need to know to take care of your new pigger. Welcome to the wonderful world of cavies!
There seems to be some debate as to whether or not the bedding needs washing at all. Some people say that the mites cannot survive without actually being on the host animal so why bother. Maybe someone will come along with a definite, educated answer to this.
Jus a teensy, teensy bit more than .08 cc is the correct dose for a pig that size. I would just give the .08 to be sure of not giving too strong of a dose.
