No, it isn't. A lot of us give a hay pile to play in and munch on. I just clean it up every day as she does wee in/on it and it starts to stink and she wont eat the wet hay.

Mine left a lot of lint the first month or so but it has reduced significantly. One of mine has a slight tear but it still use it so... I have been using it for several months. I really love them!
