I think the water bottle thing depends on the pigs because I have 4 femals sharing between two bottles which they are fine with, but then again mine don't bicker much anyway :).

You can make the main level any shape you want as long as its at least 2 grids wide (27") and meets the minimum or recomended floor space. E.g. a 2x4 with an L-shape 2x2 add on has the same square ft as a 2x6.

Its great, I use it for my guinea pigs and its basically the same stuff anyway - wood pulp. I get 4 bags for £20 and it lasts me about four or five months.
