It's a grey area for me. In the dog, and horse world, if you breed, you must rescue or be involved in rescue in one way or another or you are not considered a reputable rescue.

Have you gone to the shelter and told them that you are looking to adopt one cavy as a companion for another? I also have a "two cavy rule" but I do make exceptions and I usually have a least one that hasn't been paired yet. Talk to Critter Corral and ask them why you were accepted, then...

Oh how horrible. Those poor pigs and pigeons. How can anyone even think these pigs look healthy? A four year old could see there is definately something wrong. I'm glad you were able to rescue them, hopefully she doesn't have anymore hiding anywhere. Did you contact anyone about the pigeons?

They DO get fresh whole vegetables everyday. As snacks and treats they get fresh juice, pulp, and dried veggies and fruits. If it's healthy for humans, why wouldn't it be for pigs? There is nothing different between a whole veggie and one thats juiced and pulped.

It only takes a few minutes to take apart and clean. I think it's easy to do. You get alot of juice. Much more then I've got from any other juicer. Most fruits and vegetables don't even need cut or peeled! Which is a plus for me...I hate cutting up veggies and fruits! Only citrus fruits and...

Pelleted pine bedding is fine. I don't think it can be aired out though. I've used it in my whole cages with no problems.

I don't think it will happen. I've been doing this since late January and have never had any problems. Like I said before, they only have the juice available for about 30 minutes a day, and they still go through 1 large water bottle a day.

Oh yes! They would kill me if I didn't! The juices and pulp are just little "snacks" in between their regular diet.
