I think your pigs look normal size. I'm guessing they are females? Males tend to get bigger if I'm not mistaken.

As long as you tape the corners and change the cage bedding when you should there should be no problem of leaking. I even had a 4 inch slice in one of my seams ( I got a little overzelous with cutting). I just put packing tape on and covered it and still have no problems with any leakage.
