    Scratching and biting on skin.

Hi, how are you folks? I have a female guinea pig who is about 5month old. I just noticed that she scratches herself quite often and even bites her skin. And After biting, she seems to be chewing something in her mouth as if she catches something off her skin. I keep her very clean, washes...

    Failed introduction.

Hm, I guess people do have problem with introduction more often than I thought. Piggy's cage is quite big enough. It's a C&C open, multi-level that's big enough for least 2-3 cavies. I actually thought about getting male one this time. Piggy is about 5 month old, weighing about 800g.

    Failed introduction.

Shelter people informed us there was another person willing to adopt Choco so, I figure she could put up with abussive, terrorizing our Piggy isn't as good option as being sent off to a home where she was ready to be loved.

    Failed introduction.

Just a story about my failed introduction. I had single sow named Miss little piggy, so I decided to get her a friend. After monthes of waiting I finally adopted another sow who was few weeks younger then the one I already had. Well, I did all the usual procedures - quarantine, introducing...

Question about diet of young guinea pigs

Just another thought on the issue. If I were to give them alfafa, how much would be appropriate amount? I have been giving them unlimited timothy. So far, I give them just a handful of alfafa every day, split a handful by two(I got two sows), it's really not that much.

Question about diet of young guinea pigs

this_lil_piggy// Thanks for reply. All of my piggies absolutely love both alfafa and timothy hay. So, anybody else can comment on my actual question directly? Can I feed Cavy Cuisine to young guineas?

Question about diet of young guinea pigs

/rabbitsncavyluv/ Thanks for the reply. So Cavy Performance can be supplemented by alfafa hay, right? But what about Cavy Cuisine? Can I still feed them to young guineas? If it's just timothy based pellets, I don't see why not but instruction on the back of it says, it's not recommanded for...

Question about diet of young guinea pigs

I have two young female guinea pigs - one about three month old, another about a month and half. I have great amount of timothy hay and some alfafa hay and Cavy Cuisine from Oxbow. I understand this Cavy Cuisine is for grown guinea(it's timothy based). I couldn't get any Cavy Performance...

Canada Good, cheap hay for B.C resident-where to find

Hi, I live in Burnaby B.C and been looking for good hay suppliers for few weeks now. I've been fed up with pathtic kaytee hay from pet stores and decide to find some local farm for fresh, good priced hay. (Couln't find any distributor for Oxbow, Vancouver Rabbit rescue used to have it, but...

    Rescuing from pet shops....

You might want to try to understand the context as whole, not pick on exact dictionary definition of each single word. The other people understood it, just not you. Of course there is a political activist. Who said there isn't? I only used words political-minded/activist to explain the way...

    Rescuing from pet shops....

When I say a few people are a bit harsh here, I said that from my experience. I've seen very rude, hostile replies from here. Not many - a few. (I never said most of people here are rude.) So, I'm not arguing anything, I was just just simply stating the fact. My eyes are wide open. Trust me...

    So sick to my stomach...

that's horrible. Not saying what the lady did was right. But nothing really wrong with snakes eating GPs. It's nature.

    Rescuing from pet shops....

A few angry guinea owners who repel other potentially good guinea lovers by snapping at them. - Not cool. - That's all I'm saying. I was the one who said, ' You are so wrapped in guinea love, you forget to how to treat people right. ' I still stand by that statement. Do you REALLY want to...
