Veg*n Modified veg*n, if such a thing exists...

I think I came off wrong in my point here. Perhaps a better name would have been vegan products??? I am not saying people who eat meat are monsters, however I have been called that by a vegan and that is why I chose to use it here. I beleive it is okay to eat meat to sustain life, as that is...

Veg*n Modified veg*n, if such a thing exists...

Okay, I don't beleive a true veg*n exists in this world. I'll keep the reasoning to myself as it is my opinion and everyone's reasons for being a veg*n are inherently good so I commend them for that. However, just because I am not a veg*n, doesn't mean I am a complete monster who doesn't care...

    I Need To Rant!!

Wow, I am getting deja vu about my family. I have a 110lb alpha female alaskan malamute. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the northern breeds they are bred to think and act independently. They are also large enough where everything is at their level. Nobody in my family is consistent...

Hay Bye, bye, Oxbow bagged hay!

I also get hay by the bale. Having horses I know a lot of local farmers and they usually let me take a 50 lb bale for free and let me know when they bale so I can get the best stuff. I will never buy bagged hay again, like lmarieaa said, bagged hay is a ripoff when you can buy a bale for $5- 10.

Introductions Possibly adding a third boar...

Actually, the smaller of my two pigs is the dominant one, I think he has Napolean Syndrome. He, Chingy, will chatter occasionally and place his head on the other boar's, Tom's, back, but Tom never cares or retaliates. I just wonder what will happen if Chingy decides to do that to a boar that's...

Introductions Possibly adding a third boar...

My guys are between 1.5 and 2.5 years old, I am not completely sure. I got them about a year ago but they haven't grown much since, I didn't even realize how small they were until I saw other adult pigs. I am also unsure of the the boar's age that I am looking at. The link to his page on...

Introductions Possibly adding a third boar...

I have two boars right now that are both on the smallish side. This is a picture of Chingy to show how small he is. I buy my pigs food at the SPCA, because it is the only place to get oxbow food without going to Petsmart or Pet Supplies PLus. While I was there I saw an adorable boar with...

Grow Your Own Starting a garden

I have been looking for "projects" to keep myself occupied as I have been out of work due to a neck surgery. I was thinking of planning a vegetable garden so I can just go out to my backyard to get some veggies for me and my pigs. I have never grown vegetables before, I do, however, have a...

    Size How big

Just wondering why you only want one and a 2x3 cage? A guinea pig can survive on the bare minimum, but it will thrive in a larger cage with a companion. Guinea pigs are social animals and should be kept in pairs or groups. Glad to see someone researching before bringing home an animal...

    Guinea pig toys!

I stuffed a sock with some shavings and my pigs go nuts for that.

    Bedding Fleece underbedding

Yes woody pet is sold at most feed stores or farm and tractor stores. They retail for about $4-5 for a 30 lb bag.

    Bedding Fleece underbedding

I am currently debating bedding ideas. I was thinking of switching to fleece but the person who owns the washer and dryer I use will not allow me to wash anything that is what they consider "urine soaked". So layers of towels won't work for me. I formerly used woody pet for my horses and I...
