They are Rambo and Gizmo, both are 2 years old. I recently moved and started school, and feel I don't have the time for them I used to.
They are in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and I would love to find them a good home. Please email me at [email address removed, members can email you through the...
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm going to try switching to a different hay type and also try growing grass so maybe I can go back and forth to lessen the amount of hay in the apartment and cage...
Using cubes of hay instead is actually a good idea. It would cause less mess too. Next time I buy hay I'm going to look for a different type, and try some of the cubes. My pigs are picky with stuff like that though, so we'll see!
My cage is a 2.5 x 4 grid and I have hideys in opposite corners. One is a two exit cardboard box (a big one) and the other is a grid draped with fleece to make a tent.
Both pigs seem to ONLY pee and poop in there. When I noticed it, I switched the corners and put a litter box (hay area) where...
I know how important hay is to pigs but I wanted to know if there is any substitute? Please no snarky comments.... I currently feed them unlimited hay in a hay loft but I'm moving soon to a smaller apartment (currently live at home in a big house) and both me and my boyfriend are allergic to the...
Yea I usually just tried to ignore it cause I know it's normal "bonding" but the last time it happened, Gizmo was still able to eat and drink. Now their water and food didn't even decrease in the last two days. After I separated them last night, I saw Gizmo eating several times and his water is...
I had more food bowls before but they only seemed to ever use one so I took it out... Right now they have a 2x4 with a 1x2 loft but I'm going to expand it to a 2.5x4 tomorow cuz I don't have the room for the 3x4. I'll try the cardboard box with multiple hole idea too and hopefully all will go...
I've had my pigs (two males) for about a year and a half. They were living in one cage that was split in two for the last year because they fought too much. About two months ago, I removed the "split" and they lived together in one big cage.
They did the normal dominance stuff with a few bite...
I know I put boars under in heat but I want to know If boars ever get more... Roudy? My pigs -two 1.5 year old boars- are usually fine but the odd time once every couple months the one pig starts chasing the other and trying to hump him (not mount-hump!) and the other pig can't hardly leave his...
It was definitely the chirping sound. I've never heard it before and I listened to some on youtube. I thought it was more common in sows? Just from googling it, it kept saying that. Either way, what a weird thing... wish I could have seen him at it but he'd stop as soon as I opened my door.
Last night I was woken up by a strange sound at about 2 am. My guinea pigs are in a the room next to mine, and I had my door closed and tv on and it still woke me up. I thought it was the fire alarm beeping at first
I googled it and saw that it's kind of common in sows (I have two...
I'm not too concerned with the flecks. I think it's just from dry skin or perhaps from the problem with the boar glue. I already had him looked at by the vet and treated too. I'm concerned about his nose problem right now and fixing that.
The pigs were treated for the mites a month ago, and I didn't give them a bath till now. The main reason I gave them a bath is because that spray on stuff left them feeling so greasy. I agree, not the best product.
And no, unfortunately this is the only vet in my area that knows guinea pigs at...
He's not acting strange at all. He's a big pig (the fatter of the two), he's eating and drinking normally, pooping and peeing fine, and as far as I can tell he's not sleepier or any more inactive then normal. They still both run up to the side of the cage excitedly when I bring them their carrot...
Please help?
I'm sorry to keep posting but thing after thing keeps coming up. My one pig is perfectly healthy, which is a bit confusing because this stuff seems like it WOULD be contagious...
Anyways, instead of continuing to post new threads I"m gonna try to put it all in this one, and...
