I'm off to my local uhaul location, to pick up a couple of pads. Hopefully this works as well as everyone says it does.

The plan is to use two layers of the uhaul pads on the floor of the cage (replacing the dog pee pads and towels I'm using now) and then put my fleece layer on top.

I'm hoping that this will cut the cage cleaning time in half, by not having to mess with multiple different layers of padding. I'll take pictures of an uncut pad for you so you can see the size.

I got 4 of the uhaul pads and 2 are currently being washed right now. As soon as there done drying, I will measure one for you so you know what the size of one will be after one wash/dry an before it gets cut.

Ok, there finally dried so I was able to measure. Out of the package they were 68 in wide 86 in long. After drying they are now aprox 66.5 in wide and 78.5 in long. Since my cage is about 42 x 60 I might beable to fold one in half trim the length a bit and only need to use one instead of two. I plan on changing my cage out this evening, so I will let you know.

Oh one other thing about the pads. When other people say they lint up when washed, they weren't kidding. I had to clean out the dryers lint trap half way through the drying because it was filled with lint.

I will admit, it will be nice to just put down uhaul pads instead of a layer of dog pee pads that never stay in place when putting the towel lawyer over them and the towel layer.

Here is a picture with the 2 layers of uhaul pads down

Here is a picture of the finished product. It was so nice not to deal with pee pads and towels that wouldn't stay in place and moved every time I adjusted the fleece.

How did you put the fleece down it looks like you placed coroplast on top of the pad.

It's not coroplast, it's actually wall board that's stain resistant, water resistant, doesn't mildew or mold and won't scratch or dent. Home depot cut it to the specs I needed including the walls. So basically I put the floor piece down, then two layers of uhaul pads, put the walls up on top of the u haul pads and then clip the fleece to both the walls and the grids. To clean it I just use disinfectant whipes and that's it. Interesting alternative to coroplast isn't it. Here is a picture of it.
