Expanding our 2x5 with 2x2 loft to a 2x7 with a 2x3loft/2x4 cage second level. Would love to see pictures of 2x6+ c&c cages. Will update this post when I get ours up this weekend :)

I was rather bummed when my hubby shot down my 2X7 I was going to build lol! Went with a 2X5 with base for now, but will probably add a loft once the boys get older. I love looking at cage pictures though so I will definitely be watching!

We recently expanded our 2x5 with a 2x3 kitchen area, making it an L-shaped 2x8.
Really happy with it as my two girls need a lot of personal space to get along, and the kitchen with disposable bedding really helps with keeping the fleece section clean, we only need to do full cleanings every two weeks now. :) They've basically potty trained themselves as they generally only pee in the kitchen.

Luckily I have a hubby that says I have full control over the animals since I am with them 24/7 (stay at home mom) so he just nods his head and says okay lol

That's awesome! I have to keep the 2x width as it's in our living room and along one wall. So I'm expanding two grids out as well as expanding the upper level. I am trying to get hubs to go a little bigger (2x8) but he says 2x7 is big enough for our four girls lol I hope they'll train easily, they pee a lot! Haha

LOL! My hubby tells me AFTER I finished the cage that I SHOULD have made it bigger with a loft on each end. Like really hun! He was leary of having guinea pigs, but now I catch him sitting on the bed watching them

lol I had been BEGGING for 2 years for him to let us get a guinea pig and he said no. Our girls said they wanted one in April, so one Mother's Day he decided we could get a hamster...went to the pet store (bad idea I know, found that out later rather than sooner though) and they told us hamsters were too fast and wild to interact with and recommended us to get two guineas since it's not recommended for them to be alone. So we got two! lol Now we have five (two pet store/three adopted)! And he loves when they wheek and squeal at me for food. They're definitely the fun of the house now a days :) And I would make one room specifically for the guineas but he thinks I'm a nut case for thinking it :/ lol So I'll expand as big as I can in the living room hahah

They are so small & drink so little, but I feel like they almost pee more than me! lol Especially on my lap.
A large enough kitchen area should do the trick & minimize the mess as they tend to do their business where they eat.

That's how my boyfriend was about getting guineas! He tried his hardest not to love them at first, but I always catch him in their room talking to them, which is just the most adorable thing. :) He even gave up his man cave, because he wants them to have their own room. He's a sweetie.

The hubs has started wrestle my Niko out from under the fleece when he escapes. It's adorable because my husband is scared he will hurt them. He has also started asking a ton of questions about them, and is pushing me to expand our cage now. I think I picked a keeper!

In the final stages of redoing the girls cage. Used to be a 2x5 bottom, 1x2 & 2x2 middle, 2x5 top level. Decided to turn it into an L-shape with the 2x5 and 2x5 on the bottom making an L and combining the 1x2 & 2x2 into a 3x2 loft. I'll try to get a photo of the final project when I get things finished up and extra things cleared out of my office/pig haven.

I also have two petstore pigs. My pigs are in my bedroom, and I've only got about enough room for expanding by 2 grids long, 1 grid wide if I decide to expand. My hubby is already talking about what I should do to it lol. He came in tonight and told me I should get them a playpen so we can put them in the living room at night for floor time

Here is the completed cage. Bottom is 2x5 and another 2x5 in an L with a 2x3 loft with two ramps. Also threw in some shots of the girls. Lighting and camera on the phone aren't the best but hopefully you get the idea of the layout.

I have a 3x6 for my two pigs. I had to separate them for now due to a medical issue that requires me to monitor the poo from one of them, but I am hoping to remove the divider at some point.
