Here's the new cage I built for my girls last night. This is an upgrade from their 2x3 grid C&C cage. I have three girls in this new cage and I switched over to fleece. We'll see how it goes.
hooray for upgrades and fleece! i'm sure they LOVE it... i've gotten tips from here for keeping the fleece cleaner. is that if you have a litter pan... (i made my own that is about a 1x2 size with the coroplast..) i put in carefresh there and all the hay, food, and water is kept in that area. goes a lot more in there then on the fleec!) good luck and great cage!
Love the organized storage you incorporated! I've thought about raising the cage up like what you did to get it off the floor, unfortunately, none of my piggies really like being handled - it's a big frustrating chase around the house when I needed to get them back in the cage! So I've kept it on the floor and made doors they can use to get in and out of.
Congrats on the huge upgrade! I tried fleece for my cavys, but it never really worked out =( But the 2x5 cage is really nice. I loved that stand idea when i was thinking of what i was going to do for a cage for my babies, so I picked a 2x6 with a stand.
oh, to answer you question, i think there is just 2 rows of 3 grids in the middle, not a whole floor of grids. it wouldn't really matter becuase the floor part isn't supporting the cage, but the ring around the top might fall down..
