It looks kind of small! Other than that your "keeping the pigs cool" ideas sounds good.

I take it you stay out there with them when they are in the run as without a top you cannot leave them unsupervised. Doesn't the cage ever collapse also? It does seem kinda small. Maybe put more towels in so both can be in the shade at the same time.

I like the idea of the ice pack but I agree with Piglet in how it looks a little small. Either way, it's better small than not at all. I'm so glad we just got a new house with four rooms so Baby will have a whole room to play around in.

That's only for about 5 minutes to eat grass outside, it's not thier cage.

I think it is fine. If that is all you have, at least you are letting them out to eat grass. Some people would not even do that!

I bought one of these fences but can't use now because they climb out!! So watch out.

it doesnt look small to me. i have seen it before. those look like cats in there! If they arent cats then it is very small.

is that the cage from pet smart? I was thinking of getting one of those for floor time. As you said its for a short period of time so they can get fresh air and grass. could you connect 2 sets of gates?
