New Guinea Pig Cage - Guinea Pig Cages

My first C&C cage. I'm having a lot of trouble finding material for a ramp and in making a door. Unfortunitly I have two cats, so leaving the cage open is not an option. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also, do you think this would be big enough for four guinea pigs? I realize that, beca
Honestly, I would say that this cage is not large enough for four guinea pigs. While adding a second level may seems helpful, it also takes away alot of room from the base level. I would think that it's large enough for two, maybe three guinea pigs, at most.

Other than the size dilemma, great cage. One suggestion for doors is just grids cable tied at the top and clipped at the bottom, so they swing up and down. Also, for ramps, you may want to try bent grids.

Okay. Thank you for the input, by the way.

So...it doesn't fit four guinea pigs. Do you think there is anything I should really add to help fit that many? Or should I just stick with three? The issue is, I'm planning to adopt two more guinea pigs that I swear I've completely fallen in love with. I also already have two. I do have one store bought cage that fits one guinea pig according to the dimensions on the front page, but I would hate to use it.

Hm. I don't know. Just trying to come up with new possibilities. Definitly thank you for the advice on the door and ramp. I was driving myself nuts with it.

I would stick with three if I were you. The cage look awesome by the way =) You can check out mine, if that will help with anything. I have 4 female guinea pigs. I recently added a third level, but my bottom flooring is the minimum you can have for four piggies. Mine is a 3x4, and than the second floor is 2x3 and then the third is 1x3.

Okay, new update.

Thank you everyone, by the way, for you comments. I am only adopting one guinea pig now (an adorable little guy named Tutter). He will be living on the top floor, which I have extended and closed off, until all of them are introduced, and hopefully get along.

Ramp building will begin at a later date and I will most definitly be using bent cubes and the like.

Again, many thanks for all the great suggestions.

I hope my input helps and isn't too overwhelming...

1. For a door use cable ties on one side and use a sort of clipping mechanism on the other, offering easy acces. I've seen people use the black clips used for paper and they work, but girl's hair clips would work too.

2. This is pretty small for 4 guinea pigs, but if you took out the upper level and used those cubes to add to the lower level it would definitely be more spacious. But you'd have to do the math to make sure it is the right dimensions.

3. A ramp. If you bend a ramp by putting your foot in the middle and pulling oin both sides with your hands they usually make pretty good ramps as long as they are covered. I've also seen other designs incorporatng wooden stairs and PVC pipes(with ventilation holes), and garden pipes cut in half used. They all work well but don't forget cleaning in the processs. (I've been told that garden pipe is hard to clean)

I hope I have helped! If you need anything just pm me!
