My Girl's Piggy Castle - Guinea Pig Cages

This is a 5X3 base with a 1X3 upstaris, 1X3 bridge, and a 1X3 hayloft.
This is a great cage! I've been taking a lot of inspiration from the cages on this site and your cage is definitely another inspiration!

Thank you! I designed this cage over a couple months this past spring. Like you, I tried to find as many examples of cages that I liked and compiled all of those features to create this cage. I was finally able to build it in June whenever I moved in my new apartment and had the space for a cage like this.

At the time this photo was taken there were only two piggys in this cage, but because of the size of this cage I know have a total of 4 girls. Just as a side note, my first two girls were a lot happier once I gave them an additional two friends. They play a lot more...popcorning and running around at all hours of the day. If you have the space for a large cage and the resources to afford a little herd of piggys I would definitely recommend it. They're a lot of work, but the reward of seeing how happy they are together makes up for it.

very nice! exellent!! :p love the cage thats awsome nice size cant wait til i get my grids to make mine :p

wow
i really wish my cage looked that neat.
i got this stupid fake coroplast from this place (didnt know what it looked like) and i am always so jelous of how other people's cages look.
fantastic \m/ (^_^) \m/ (<== guy rockin out)

Thats a great cage. I like how you have the one tray of coroplast with the bedding. I am thinking of doing the same thing in my new cage that I have been designing. Is that section removable for cleaning?

The tray you're talking about is their litter box and yes it is removable. When I was designing my cage, I liked the idea of having an area downstairs where they would be able to eat pellets/hay without going up to their hay loft. I looked into getting some sort of plastic container, cat litter box, etc. to use as a litter box, but I couldn't find anything with the dimensions I wanted. I ended up just using coroplast and was able to cut it to fit perfect. The best thing about having the litter box downstairs is that it helps keep the fleece cleaner longer since the aspen shavings absorb their pee and it can be removed and changed as often as needed to keep the cage smelling fresh.

Awesome cage! I've being trying to decide on a design for Olga and Alice's new cage and yours has definitely given me some inspiration :)

Wow I wish I had the space for something like this. If I was living in a bigger apartment I would totally build something awesome like this for my piggie.
