Here is another angle of my combo bunny/guinea pig cage. It is impossible to get the whole cage in one shot b/c the room is too small. Hopefully, this will help you guys get a better idea of how it looks.
Thanks for the positive feedback and ratings! I have three guinea pigs- Bonsai (boar, orange, black, & white Abyssinian), Dax (sow, red-eyed, white & beige Peruvian), & Annabelle (sow, white & orange American).
The cage is quite easy to clean. When designing it, I chose to make it only 2 grids deep & have multiple entry points, so that I could reach every inch. (I used to have a cage that was 3 grids deep, but I really struggled when it came time to wipe down the coroplast.) I use a step ladder, which you can see part of in the right corner, to access the top level. However, it takes both my husband & myself to move the cage out from the wall when I do 'deep cleaning'. In the meanwhile, I use my shop-vac to suck up the stray hay & poopies that fall behind the cage. I strongly recommend investing in a shop-vac. I lost 2 vacuums (that were on the top 10 list of Consumer Reports) this year b/c they couldn't handle the hay! I would much rather only have to spend $30 to replace the shop-vac. Also, the hose fits perfectly in between the wires on the grids.
Oh yeah- not only are the fabrics great decorations, but my cavies really seem to enjoy the privacy that they create. I think it makes them feel safer. They also like to rattle the chandelier.
